What does lip blush tattoo look like when healed?
The healed result is a soft, natural flush of colour — not a solid, painted look. The fresh result after treatment will appear much darker and more saturated than what you ultimately keep. Once fully healed at around 4–6 weeks, the colour settles into a sheer, organic tint that looks like your lips naturally enhanced.
Is lip blush tattoo painful?
The lips are more sensitive than most areas, but professional topical numbing makes the experience very manageable for most clients. Expect a rating of around 2–4 out of 10 during the procedure — more of a buzzing pressure than sharp pain. Numbing is reapplied throughout as needed.
How long does lip blush last?
Lip blush typically lasts between 2 and 5 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure. The lips are a high-movement area and exposed to more daily wear than brows, so colour gradually softens over time. A colour refresh every 2–3 years maintains the result.
Can lip blush make my lips look fuller?
Yes — to a degree. Careful mapping of the lip border slightly beyond its natural edge can create the illusion of more volume and a more defined cupid's bow. However, lip blush works with your natural lip shape rather than dramatically altering it. For significant volume changes, filler remains the appropriate treatment.
Can I choose my lip colour?
Yes. Daniela works with you during the consultation to select a pigment that complements your natural lip colour and skin undertone. The goal is always a colour that looks like it belongs — an enhanced version of your natural lip, not an imposed shade.
Can I have lip blush if I have lip filler?
Yes, in most cases. If you have existing filler, it's recommended to wait at least 4 weeks after your most recent filler treatment before proceeding with lip blush. Daniela will assess your lips at consultation and advise if there are any considerations specific to your situation.
What if I have a history of cold sores?
Any trauma to the lips — including cosmetic tattooing — can trigger a cold sore outbreak in those who carry the herpes simplex virus. If you have a history of cold sores, you must consult your GP and take antiviral medication (such as Valtrex) before and after your appointment. Daniela will remind you of this at booking.
How much does lip blush cost at Monarch?
Lip blush at Monarch is priced from $650, which includes your initial treatment and the perfecting touch-up at 6–8 weeks. Colour refresh appointments are priced separately and quoted at your touch-up session.
