A manual hair-stroke brow technique — fine, precise marks that mimic the look of natural brow hairs for a defined, natural result.
The Technique
Microblading is a manual cosmetic tattoo technique that uses a fine, handheld blade to create small, precise cuts in the upper layer of the skin, into which pigment is deposited. Each stroke mimics the appearance of an individual brow hair — producing a soft, natural-looking result that enhances the brow's shape, density, and definition.
Unlike machine-based techniques such as nano hyperrealism or powder brows, microblading is performed entirely by hand. The artist controls the depth, pressure, and angle of each stroke manually, making it a highly skill-dependent technique. At Monarch, microblading is offered as an alternative to nano brows for clients whose skin type and lifestyle make it the more appropriate choice.
Microblading is best suited to normal to dry skin types. On oily or mature skin, the strokes can blur or fade unevenly — in those cases, Daniela will recommend nano hyperrealism instead. Your consultation will determine which technique is right for you.

Ideal Candidates
Microblading suits a specific type of client — here's who tends to get the best results.
Microblading performs most reliably on dry to normal skin types, where pigment retention is consistent and strokes heal crisply without blurring.
Hair strokes fill gaps between existing brow hairs seamlessly, adding definition and density without the heavier look of powder or ombré techniques.
Microblading produces a soft, hair-stroke finish rather than a filled or powdered look — ideal for clients who want definition without obvious cosmetic tattoo appearance.
For clients new to cosmetic tattooing who prefer a lighter, less permanent-looking result, microblading offers a more gradual introduction to the process.
Microblading performs best on younger, firmer skin. Mature or significantly sun-damaged skin may not retain strokes as cleanly — Daniela will advise at consultation.
If you're undecided between microblading and nano brows, Daniela will assess your skin type, lifestyle, and goals at consultation and recommend the right approach.
Your Experience
Your appointment follows the same meticulous process as all Monarch treatments — unhurried, precise, and designed around your comfort.
Daniela maps your ideal brow shape using your facial anatomy as a guide. You'll see and approve the design before any work begins.
Topical numbing cream is applied and given time to take full effect. Most clients rate discomfort at 2–3 out of 10 during the procedure.
Each hair stroke is applied individually using the microblading tool. Daniela works methodically across both brows, ensuring symmetry and natural flow.
Brows will appear bold and dark immediately after. Over 10–14 days the skin heals and colour softens significantly. Flaking is normal — do not pick.
Included in your investment. Daniela reviews the healed result and refines density, symmetry, and any areas of lower retention.

Frequently Asked
Microblading uses a manual blade to make fine cuts in the skin and deposit pigment. Nano brows use a digital machine with a single needle to implant pigment without cutting. Nano brows typically last longer, suit more skin types, and produce crisper results — particularly on oily skin. Daniela will recommend the right technique for your skin at consultation.
Oily skin is not an ideal candidate for microblading — excess sebum causes the pigment to blur and fade unevenly. For oily skin, Daniela recommends nano hyperrealism or powder brows instead. She will assess your skin type at consultation and advise accordingly.
Microblading typically lasts between 12 and 18 months, after which a colour refresh is recommended. Results vary depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare habits. Drier skin tends to retain pigment longer.
Topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure and kept effective throughout. Most clients find the sensation very manageable — a light scratching feeling, rated 2–3 out of 10.
Microblading is priced from $700, which includes the initial treatment and the perfecting touch-up at 6–8 weeks. Colour refresh appointments are priced separately.
